jeju~

alright~ sorry for the break again :\ i'm kinda busy....and lazy and the same time :3

okay so on the third day we went to jeju~ so first we went to isaac toast for breakfast again. well the toast is just awesome so we went back to visit it again^^

so after that we took subway to gimpo airport. well if you need to save time or get there earlier you can try the airport limousine.

I've booked a taxi to drive us around for the 3 days that we are there. If you are looking for one you can visit www.ajeossitaxi.com~ or alternatively you can let me know and i'll give you a number where you can contact Charles, the guy that drove us around^^

when we touched down, i was whatsapp-ing Charles on the location to meet and stuff. yep he's pretty easy to contact^^

so on our first day at jeju, he first brought us to look at the Yongduam Rock. Well yongd
uam actually meant the dragon head in case you don't know :3 so basically the rocks look like that

but i have to say the rocks there are really unstable so be careful while you are walking around there especially when you are with your parents because my mum fell and bruised her knee): but the scenery in jeju is really beautiful so enjoy while you are there!

yep all of this are taken at Yongduam Rock~^^ Next he brought us to hallansan~ well to be accurate he only bring us to the lower area because we touched down a little late. and it's not the best season to visit the area because the flowers have not bloomed so practically all you see is sth like this...

oh but i manage to spot some ducks in the stream!

aren't they pretty? :3 well if you go during late spring to early summer i suppose you will be able to see more animals there~

anyway after that he dropped us at our hotel to unpack our bags~ hmm i wasn't able to find places at the pensions in jeju because my booking was a little last minute so i booked a room for 4 at jeju december hotel through booking.com~ i would encourage you to try getting a pension actually~ because the scenery and stuff i heard it's really great and if you are renting a cab to send you around you don't really have to worry which part of jeju is your pension at^^

anyway Charles would always ask us what we would like to have for our meals. so be sure you go to jeju keeping in mind what are the food you would like to try there.

for our first night i requested him to bring us to a black pork restaurant. well because i was craving for the barbecue pork so bad :3

honestly i was sleeping most of the time when i got on the cab so i have no idea what's the name of all the restaurants he brought us to>< but the restaurant he brought us to for the black pork is really famous and 2days 1night had a filming there before^^

that's basically my first day in jeju^^ thanks for reading and leave comments if you have any questions~

Yeouido~

Alright so the next day we spent our whole day at Yeouido!^^ it's a beautiful place <3

First we had our breakfast at seolnongtang~

look at that queue! and we were quite early that day too but uhwells~
well the food is really tasty but since in Singapore, we don't have the habit of getting heavy breakfast so i was really full by the time i finished it.

looks good?^^ well if you are not someone that like heavy breakfast you would probably wanna share this with someone else. i ordered the one with rice cakes and my friend ordered the one with dumplings. these 2 have really big servings. if you are looking for something lighter i guess you would wanna try the regular ones that just have meat in them~

so after breakfast we headed over to take the subway to yeouido~

here's a map of yeouido~

we headed over to yeouido park first. you can get there from either yeouinaru exit 1 or yeouido exit 3~ there are actually some road stalls on the way there so if you are hungry you can grab a bite along the way~

so here's a few picture of the scenery at the park

i personally like the first one the best^^ it looks like it's a picture that was photoshopped together but it's actually how the park looked like.
so if you are going to korea around start to mid april be sure to drop by this place if you are looking for places that has great cherry blossom scenes.

so after visiting the park we decided to head over to 63 building for lunch. it was a long dreadful walk i swear. hahahah :3 well if you are not someone that enjoy long distance walking i suggest you look for a bus that can take you there. there's a tourist centre near the park so feel free to go ask for directions or at least get a map :3

lunchhhhhh~ at 63 building this was an awesomely big serving of bibimbap <3 the picture doesn't do justice to how great it tasted. and we had knife cut noodles too~ it's another great dish that they have at the foodcourt of 63 building^^

okay some after our lunch it's time for more exercise :3 stupid idea actually because the temperature was about 7 degrees and i only had my hoodie on>< but anyway i wanted to get to seogang bridge which was all the way at the other side of this mini island. that's where the festive stands are and i actually had a hidden agenda for going all the way there.

if you are a kpop fan you will know that there is this tree planet organization that does takes in donation to build a forest for any idols. i'm a cassie and an inspirit~^^

and since tvxq and infinite both have their own forest. i decided to visit their trees! what's more tvxq and infinite trees are just next to each other :3 the forest is near seogang bridge~ if you are a kpop fan that are looking directions to visit tvxq tree forest or infinite's 7 trees you can just take a subway to yeouinaru station and keep walking in the direction of seogang bridge till you see trees with name tag.

you will probably spot snsd trees first before the rest. infinite's trees have lots of goldish yellow ribbons on them while every single tvxq tree has red ribbons tied to them.

so since i'm myungsoo biased and yunho biased imma just gonna post up the 2 of their trees xD i even took selfie with each tree LOL. but uh wells i don't suppose you would wanna see that. anyway here's a funny thing, it's suppose to be spring so the flowers on the trees should be blooming but the ones on infinite trees are all like turning yellow :3 and for tvxq trees, the flowers are red! but look at the difference of amount of flowers on yunho's and changmin's tree....

so this is changmin's tree...you can see quite a few of the flowers isn't it?

and this is yunho's LOL uh yep pathetically xD

okay maybe i'm the only one that finds it funny :3 i mean given how changmin is always mean to his hyung i find this difference honestly funny. it's as if the trees are teasing yunho too :3
honestly i felt bad for pulling my parents all the way there to look at these trees.. but i donated to plant these trees! so since i'm already in korea why not just go visit it~
alright so after this we decided to walk around the festival area. there was this korean male student that approached us wanting to talk to us about their church. it was quite a funny encounter because upon finding out that we were tourist, he started communicating with us in english. and although it wasn't perfect i would give him 100 marks for effort. he even asked us where we were from and after finding out that we were from Singapore, he even said that he wanted to visit the place soon.

so we walked around the festival area and my dad took pictures of the tulips that were blooming. i guess it was the seasons for tulips too because i see it everywhere.

as we were walking down the street the sun was setting. the scene was really beautiful~

you can see the tents and lots of people there isn't it. but really it's a great place to be at for cherry blossom season~

anyway we decided to make our way back straight after that because the amount of time we have left for dinner~

but on our way out i spotted the korean student that talked to us before that. he was standing in a group and they were singing. i guess it was their church event? and surprisingly he looked up and recognized me. it shocked me even more when he waved bye and smiled really brightly.

in all honesty, the students at korea were really much friendlier than the adults. the ajussi and ajumma in Korea can be a little rude sometimes. they push people around a lot more than the uncles and aunties in Singapore does. i was shocked when i first got shoved around in their subway by 2 ajummas just because they wanted a seat. so yep be warned. if you are one of those that have been complaining about being pushed around you might wanna be more conscious of your surroundings in Korea so that you won't get pushed around too much.

so we made our way back to Myeongdong for dinner. we went for Myeongdong Tonkatsu. The food is really great <3 I would reccomend their pork and fish cutlet :3 and for me i think the serving is perfect since they didn't give too much rice. There were 2 kinds of salad dressings too. 1 was peanut sauce and the other one looked like bbq sauce but tasted a little bit too sour than usual bbq sauce for my liking. sorry no pictures again>< i was already starving when i get most of my food so i couldn't bother taking pictures of them :3

we walked around to shop a bit before heading back to our pension. i remember buying lots of albums and cosmetics :3

there are a few album shops around myeongdong. you can take a look around but if you want to get it at a cheaper price i would recommend the shops that are underground at myeongdong. however if you are looking for limited edition albums, i would suggest you take a look at the shop called 'Music Korea'. From Myeongdong exit 6/7, you walk in and you will see one of the bigger outlets of nature republic. Music Korea is at the 3rd floor of that building. There is a side entrance btw so you wouldn't have to be embarrassed by walking in through the main door while they desperately try to sell their products to you.

That's all for my day 3(although it's actually just day 2 since the day we touch down don't count) :3

Thanks for reading! feel free to comment if you have any questions~^^

REAL DAY 1

alright! day 2~ "OMG cherry blossoms" xD

so basically for day 2 we went to Gyeongbokgung, Samcheongdong and Myeongdong.

Gyeongbokgung has an entrance fee of 3000₩ but speak to them in english or more or less show that you are a tourist they will most likely give you a discounted price. the easiest way to get there is by subway to Gyeongbokgung station and from exit 5.

oh right i forgot we had breakfast before heading down! there's this shop Isaac Toast near our pension. if you happen to stay at the same pension, just walk down all the way and you will see it before reach Myeongdong exit 3. however, if you are not then head over to Myeongdong exit 5 and walk for about 50m you'll see it[:

alright so we went to Gyeongbokgung. we went on a Saturday so there was quite a crowd and lots of tour groups :\ which was kinda annoying so avoid weekends if you are not a crowd lover.

you will know it's the right exit if you need to walk pass this gate. (yep that's my friend and I)

there will be a long flight of stairs for you to climb. and when you reach the top you will probably see sth like this:

well i mean without that loving couple there xD (that's my mum and my dad :3)

so basically buying the ticket and stuff is pretty straight forward. well take note that no matter how many people you are with, if you are buying your tickets in a group they will most probably just give you 1 ticket with the number of people stated on top. so if you want the ticket as a keepsake you gotta fight it out with your friends :3

oh right you will see some photobooth at the main entrance (the one you are entering from with my directions is the side gate). you can rent a costume and take a photo there.

the moment we entered the palace, my friend and I were like total idiots going "OMG OMG OMG" because we saw cherry blossoms.

well my dad's hobby is photography and let's just say i take after him. so we spent quite some time taking photos of the cherry blossoms.

pretty eh? :3 oh and look at the full bloom :O i felt like a little kid because i was really super happy to see it><

so apparently my dad bought this book at the ticketing area. it has a map of the place in it with it's explanation. it's 400 to 500₩  if i didn't remember wrongly~ but if you feel that it's useless after that you can choose not to get it and just look out for the stands at each section which tell you where you are at.

hahah you are gonna see more cherry blossoms pics soon because i really love them <3

okay sorry for this terribly slanted pic. the wind blew and the petals started flying everywhere. it was such a beautiful and rare scene that i couldn't care less about the angle and just snapped it straight. can you see those flying petals? <3

hahah alright explanation of this shot. so this couple was like having their mini photoshoot in front of the tree. and honestly the scene was too beautiful i really wanted to get rid of them so that i could take a proper pic of the tree. but anyway they took really long and i was getting fed up so i started randomly snapping photos of them with the tree. then suddenly the guy turned to look at my camera. okay awkward so i immediately stop snapping and walked away xD

so tada this is how they scene looks after they walked away and i went back :3

hmm the place is quite interesting because some of them only have open windows for you to look at how the whole place is decorated while you get to go closer to some.

this pavilion is one example where you watch from afar. there is a bridge but it's blocked off~

so this is what you should expect to see there~

we took a small break at their souvenir shop/cafe. and sadly i lost my wallet there.
well i think it got stolen when i was picking out magnets for my sister but the good thing is i didn't keep all my money in there and all my relevant identifications are not in there. so becareful when you are there. make sure your bag is zipped and you can see the zip clearly in front of you.

so after that we continued walking around.

if you watch dae jang geum you will find this familiar^^

with a staff that dressed up as the imperial lady~ okay i seriously look round here ._.

so we were leaving the place to grab lunch and then we caught the guards in their changing shift ceremony!

well it's not very exciting or that worth squeezing the crowd but it's definitely sth interesting to watch~ we were just lucky that the timing matched for us^^

so after the ceremony ended we headed out for lunch~

it started to drizzle so we had some difficulties finding our way and we were really hungry ><
so we ended up just stopping at cook n heim. i actually didn't want it because it's western food. i mean who goes to korea and eat western there :\ but wow i was amazed the food is actually really great.

sorry i don't have any pics of my pasta>< but their cream pasta is really good. not the kind where you will get sick of it after awhile. my friend ordered a spicy crab pasta and we exchanged our pastas halfway through. the spicy crab pasta is good too but be warned if you don't have high tolerance of spiciness you better have a bottle of water with you :3

so subsequently we walked around samcheongdong to shop too~ things there are not cheap though so yep^^

we headed back to myeongdong for dinner!^^ for our first night, we ate myeongdong gyoza! search it up online and you will know how the entrance look like.

after that we headed back to our pension and bought some fruits and snacks on the way. the orange is awesome (Y)

yep that's how our actual first day in korea is~ the maps above are not exactly accurate. you should probably get some free maps that they are giving out to find out better. because when we went there, levi's is no longer at the location that was marked on the map.

so yep thanks for reading! and comment if you have any questions[:

Pathetic day 1

urgh okay that was slow of me i'm sorry>< kinda busy recently so i don't really have time to update and since i wanna do a proper update with photos it's gonna take some time for me to finish posting everything up><

sorry if any of you are waiting(if there is even anyone :3)
so basically on my first day, 4th April, we touched down at Incheon Airport at about 10.30pm. i know it's considered really late :3 wanna know why? well it was SIA promotion and there wasn't much timing for the flight left so we thought since the price is decent the timing shouldn't matter that much. bad choice actually): see out of the 4 of us (my parents, my friend and I) I was the only one that could understand and read hangul. and i'm not exactly good at it, so navigating around after checking out would be a problem. after we checked out, we decided to settle phone rental and subway passes before making our way to the pension.

phone rental I would say it's not a must. if you are a smart phone user and you are bringing your phone over the good news is there is practically wifi almost everywhere. unless you need to call anyone that's holding onto a korean number then well yea get it. the rental isn't cheap anyway and you need to pay a large sum as deposit like in case you run away with the phone or sth.

subway passes are simple~ they almost sell them at any convenience stall. so just head over to any of them and get the card you can top it up right on the spot too!

you can take an airport limousine or subway to get to the place you want from Incheon. but if you reach as late as we did then by the time you settled down both of them probably stopped their service alr. the last airport limousine ends service at 10pm while the last subway is at 12am.

when we were all done with our stuff it was alr around 1am. which means the only way to get out of the airport is probably the taxi. and since our pension is at seoul, myeongdong area....it's kinda a long way down.

we were lucky we didn't have to go taxi hunting though~ the taxi drivers might probably be hanging around in the airport to ask if you need a ride. if you are not good with korean then make sure you have alr printed out a map on how to get to the place you want to go.

the uncle we got speaks a little english. he was introducing different places that we went by to us. my dad had some fun trying to communicate with him in english. my mum and my friend however was falling asleep.

btw the pension we are living at is called seoul tower ville. by the time we reached there, the cab fare alr went up to about 150 000so yep if you are going to take cab make sure you have that amount with you!^^

on a side note, it would be much easier if you print their subway map beforehand and keep it with you throughout the trip[:

so yep that's how pathetic my day 1 at korea was~

thanks for reading~ and comment if you have any questions^^ i'll be glad to answer them~
